A man has revealed details about his torture in detention by security authorities in West Darfur.<\/p>\n

Bashar Ali who was abducted and detained in November last year was released two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Radio Dabanga Bashar said he lost the ability to use his right arm and witnessed three men die in the prison after being subjected to sustained severe torture.<\/p>\n

Abdel Jabar Muhammed and Adam Ishaq Abdel Rasul died after two months from their injuries. Hessein Adam died two weeks in detention.<\/p>\n

Traumatised in detention<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bashar said he witnessed another 17 detainees die in detention.<\/p>\n

He said the security service dug cells 30 m into the ground, pushed the detainees in and shocked them with electric currents operating through wires.<\/p>\n

Bashar said there are currently seven cells underground with dozens of traumatised detainees in the prison in El Geneina.<\/p>\n

He said many of the detainees are there without their families awareness.<\/p>\n

Bashar appealed to human rights organisations to investigate these prisons and said he is more than willing to provide exact details of his torture in detention.<\/p>\n
