Native administrators of camp Kalma in South Darfur agreed to accept a re-registration of cards for food distribution by the World Food Programme (WFP). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The camp leaders had rejected a re-registration for six months as it <\/span><\/span><\/span>sparked fear<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> among the residents of Kalma. They feared they will not be given renewed cards, and thus not receive food rations, once they submit their original documents.
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Today’s approval came after the WFP cancelled the distribution of food for six months and required the full approval of camp residents to re-registrate their cards.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The leaders of the camp call on the WFP to start distributing food before organizing the re-registration. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After being deprived from food distribution for six months, the humanitarian conditions in the camp are severe. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
