On Wednesday four women were raped by armed men in Dereig camp in South Darfur.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that the women went out of the camp to collect firewood and sat near a mountain for a quick rest.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The gunmen on camels appeared, attacked the women and raped them.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She went to the police to report the incident but was insulted and told to go to the UN\/AU Mission in Darfur.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The woman told the police that UNAMID but she would not keep quiet. She told them she would take her story to the world via Radio Dabanga.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Four women raped in Chad <\/strong><\/p>\n

Four Darfuri women in an eastern Chad refugee camp were also raped by gunmen traveling on camels and horses on Wednesday.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A witness told Radio Dabanga that the four women from Arkasoni camp were raped by 14 armed men.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They also viciously beat Abdul Gadir Adam who witnessed the attack.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The witness said the women were extremely traumatised and are now being treated at the camp using traditional remedies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He appealed to the UN and other organisations to try to protect women from these attacks.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
