Radio Dabanga was informed that another<\/a> four displaced persons were killed and seven were wounded at the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) Kassab camp near Kutum town, North Darfur. Since the outbreak of this conflict<\/a>, in the beginning of August, a total of seven people were killed and seven were wounded.<\/p>\n

A relative of one of the victims told Radio Dabanga that three of them were shot dead by border guards inside the camp. The victims, who previously fled the camp, were returning home to recover the belongings they left behind. They are: Babiker Zechariah, Adam Joseph, Moses Adam. The forth victim, Joseph Adam Jacob, was killed as he was caught in the crossfire between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and border guards.<\/p>\n

The camp’s sheikh, Al Taher Ismail, added that a large amount of people are either missing or are detained by border guards. They also looted the Qursi village, north of Kutum and raped an underage girl.<\/p>\n

In Kutum town, two SAF soldiers were killed and eight civilians were wounded. This is due to the explosion of an unexploded bomb used during the clashes between border guards and the SAF. Eye witnesses informed Radio Dabanga that border guards looted the secondary school of Kutum and they burned another one. They said the situation inside Kutum is tense and shootings are heard from time to time. Schools, shops and government institutions remain closed. <\/p>\n
