Radio Dabanga was informed that on Monday evening, August 27, an armed group killed two displaced persons from the Sibak Al Khel camp, northwest of Kabkabiya city, North Darfur. The camp is located near the Sudanese Central Reserve Forces (Abu Tira) headquarters.<\/p>\n

Eye witnesses said that dozens of gunmen, some by foot and others riding camels and horses, raided the camp and looted one home after another. They added the gunmen also robbed passersby at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Sources said that the two men who died, Mussa Bashar Tom and Ismail Shogar, were shot because they refused to give their belongings when approached by the gunmen.<\/p>\n

They added millions of Sudanese Pounds were stolen from the camp’s residents, including more than 30 mobile phones, watches, jewelry and electric equipments (radio and TVs).<\/p>\n

Witnesses informed Radio Dabanga that on Tuesday, August 28, the displaced persons wanted to march to UNAMID’s headquarters to condemn the attacks and demand protection. They said, however, that Abu Tira forces, a Sheikh and an Omda stopped them from leaving the camp. The reason for such is unclear. The Sudanese Central Reserve Forces could not be reached for comments.<\/p>\n
