Radio Dabanga was informed that gunmen who kidnapped a group of five civil servants from the Tawila locality, North Darfur, released their hostages on Tuesday, 28 August. According to previous reports<\/a> the men were abducted in June 2012, on their way from El-Fasher to Tawila.<\/p>\n

One of the freed hostages, Ahmed Abdulaziz, told Radio Dabanga after his release that he and the other four men spent 67 days in captivity. He does not know who abducted them nor where they were kept during their captivity.<\/p>\n

The civil servants’ names are: Abdulaziz Mohamed Ahmed, Director and Administrative Officer at a fee collection agency in Tawila locality; Mohammad Hafiz Sulaiman Ahmad, an Administrative Officer at the locality; Abdul Jabbar Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Zakat (charity) Director; Salah Abdullah Bakhur, a fee collector at the locality and Hatim Abbeker Shatta, a policeman.<\/p>\n
