The party described Darfur as a lawless region since the signing of the Doha peace agreement and noted that the region still finds itself in a state of emergency.<\/p>\n<p>It also argued that security arrangements have not been put in place and the \u2018demands of the people of Darfur\u2019 have not been met.<\/p>\n<p>The party stressed that the constitution cannot be drafted under the watch of the current regime in Sudan and it cannot be confined to a one-party state. According to the party, the Sudanese constitution should be drafted towards the end of the national government&#8217;s transitional period.<\/p>\n<p>This period, the statement pointed out, will be after &#8216;totalitarianism has been dismantled&#8217; and when the policies of war in Darfur will be put to an end.
