The convoy was prevented <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\">from reaching the destination<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\"> by the Government of Sudan&#8217;s military at Zam Zam checkpoint .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\">\u201cI am dismayed by these deaths, and very concerned over the repeated incidents that have led to the killing, injury of the local population, as well as their displacement,\u201d said the Acting Joint Special Representative and Joint Chief Mediator a.i., Aichatou Mindaoudou. &nbsp;\u201cI reiterate my strong condemnation of all forms of violence in Darfur, especially the attacks against civilians, which constitute serious crimes,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\">Several hundred mourners marched <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\">through El Fasher<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\"> today in a funeral procession in sympathy with the victims of this incident. The mourners brought 10 bodies, those who had reportedly died in the attack, to the gate of UNAMID Headquarters in El Fasher. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;\">Representatives of the mourners met with the Mission\u2019s leadership and called, in particular, for an investigation.
