Members of the National Consensus Forces, which include main opposition parties in Sudan, held an extensive meeting in Khartoum in which they discussed issues as security and the humanitarian situation in Darfur, on Tuesday 20 November.<\/p>\n
They also argued about the challenges the region faces given the poor commitment of the government of Sudan and of the international community in implementing the Doha document, according to a statement released after the meeting.<\/p>\n
In addition, the parties talked about the low performance of the United Nation forces that hinder the work of international humanitarian organizations, the collapse of the state, the growing tribalism, rampant violence, killings, widespread famine and the spread of deadly epidemics, such as yellow fever, in Darfur.<\/p>\n
The latter, according to the statement, had been eradicated from Sudan since the sixties.<\/p>\n
