A farmer from Kendebe, in Sirba locality, West Darfur, was shot by herders inside his house, a local resident told Radio Dabanga on Wednesday, 21 November. The victim was reportedly taken to a hospital in El-Geneina, the state\u2019s capital, for treatment.<\/p>\n

The herders invaded the property of the farmer Ibrahim Gandul with their camels and shot the victim when he tried stopping the incursion, the witness recounted.<\/p>\n

Gandul was shot on his thigh, what caused him serious wounds, and was therefore transferred to a hospital in El-Geneina, the local resident explained to Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

He added that the police have been notified about the incident. However, it claimed not having the \u2018capability\u2019 of chasing the perpetrators without backup from El-Geneina.<\/p>\n

The resident pointed out these kinds of incidents occur often due to the widespread insecurity in the area.<\/p>\n

He demanded from the state governor, the commissioner and the local administration to provide security to citizens of Sirba locality.<\/p>\n
