The Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdelwahid (SLM-AW) announced killing 83 Sudanese soldiers in the area of Ed el-Nabq, in Kabkabiya locality, North Darfur on Friday, 23 November.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Tambour, the movement\u2019s spokesman, also said the attack left four Sudanese soldiers mildly injured.<\/p>\n

The spokesman told Radio Dabanga that the movement attacked an army camp at about 6am on Friday, adding the rebels have now \u2018full control\u2019 of the region.<\/p>\n

Besides, the SLM-AW claims to have seized \u2018heavy and light weapons, various types of ammunition and five Land Cruiser vehicles\u2019.<\/p>\n

Witnesses confirm clashes <\/strong><\/p>\n

Witnesses and local residents from Kabkabiya confirmed to Radio Dabanga that clashes between the rebels and the government took place in the area.<\/p>\n

They also confirmed the defeat of the government forces inside their camp, saying they counted more than 30 dead soldiers.<\/p>\n

Lastly, sources claimed to have seen two Renault vehicles carrying many wounded to be treated at the Kabkabiya hospital on Friday.<\/p>\n

Radio Dabanga could not contact the Sudanese army for comments. <\/p>\n
