Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, head of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), spoke to Radio Dabanga about the recent incidents in which four students from Darfur were reportedly killed by security forces at the Gezira University, on Friday, 14 December.<\/p>\n

He also discussed about the violent campaign against students from universities in Khartoum, which included the burning of homes at the Islamic University.<\/p>\n

According to Ibrahim, these events are a \u201cclear target of the regime against the people from Darfur and of all of Sudan\u201d.  <\/p>\n

\u201cRacist\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

The head of JEM called the regime of Khartoum \u201cracist\u201d. He stated that the ongoing actions of the government against Darfuri students are way to create a separation among the people of Sudan by specifically targeting certain areas.<\/p>\n

Ibrahim used South Sudan as an example, mentioning the government targeted the area in the past and now it has separated from the rest of the country. Now, he continued, the government is targeting Darfur.  <\/p>\n

In addition, he claimed that the time to rise against the regime is now and called on all people from Sudan to do so and topple the regime in order to maintain the unity of the country.<\/p>\n

He stressed to Radio Dabanga that the survival of the regime means the fragmentation of Sudan.<\/p>\n

\u201cLargest demonstration\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Ibrahim suggested that the current events in Khartoum and in Wad Madani are not related to the payment of fees and registration of students.<\/p>\n

He stressed that this is the \u201clargest and most dangerous demonstration\u201d the security services have dealt with so far, adding that authorities are killing students and burning buildings following orders to \u201ctarget and clear\u201d the demonstrators.<\/p>\n

Ibrahim warned that if the Sudanese want to stay in their country, they should eliminate the regime as soon as possible.  <\/p>\n

He appealed to the people of Sudan to topple the government to maintain what is left of the country.<\/p>\n
