Besides, they appealed to the UN Security Council to intervene and protect students from Darfur and their rights.<\/p>\n<p>A Hamidiya camp coordinator told Radio Dabanga that during the prayers, the displaced from Zalingei asked for the solidarity of all Sudanese people with the murdered students. They also asked that students stop being targeted by the security services and by the National Congress Party.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, the displaced sent their condolences to the families of the murdered students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Umma Party<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the leaders of the Umma party and of the National Consensus Forces also organized prayers after sunset (al-Maghrib) for the murdered students, which they also refered to as \u201cmartyrs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The prayer was reportedly organized at the headquarters of the Umma Party in Omdurman.<\/p>\n<p>Umma party leader Imam Sadiq al-Mahdi attended the prayer along with other opposition political leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The cerimony was led by Professor Farouk Abu Issa, leader of the National Consensus Forces.
