The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) claims that the Sudan Air Forces carried out an air strike on Sunday, 16 December, in the area of Bir Jaber in East Jebel Marra. The air strike ‘wrongly’ killed 27 of its own soldiers and left four army vehicles destroyed and dozens of soldiers injured.<\/p>\n
It was reported that the Sudanese soldiers were mistaken for SRF troops. Clashes took place in the same area between the armed forces and the SRF recently.<\/p>\n
Adam Saleh Abker, spokesman of the Sudan Liberation Movement \u2013 led by Mini Minnawi, told Radio Dabanga that troops of the SLM-MM integrated in the SRF together with troops of the Justice and Equality Movement and the SLM-Karbino defeated the government troops in Bir Jaber.<\/p>\n
He added that the government troops attempted to cross to East Jebel Marra coming from Tabet. The spokesman said that SRF troops killed nine Sudanese soldiers during clashes with the government troops in the area and captured three other soldiers.<\/p>\n
Lastly, Abker stated they seized three army vehicles and destroyed four others.<\/p>\n
Radio Dabanga was not able to reach the Sudanese army for comments.<\/p>\n
