The Sudan Revolutionary Forces (SRF) claims to have captured other government-controlled areas in the surroundings of Golo in Central Darfur. In addition, the movement detained the deputy commissioner of Abdejaber Wadi, who was appointed by the government of Khartoum.<\/p>\n

Wadi was reportedly wounded, but according to the SRF spokesman Mustafa Tambour, he received proper medical treatment. The spokesman declared the rebel movement will abide to the Geneva conventions for war situations.<\/p>\n

Besides, the SRF has noticed that the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) are reinforcing and preparing for a counterattack to recapture Golo.<\/p>\n

This important village in Central Darfur was taken by the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid (SLM-AW), integrated in the SRF, on Sunday 23 December.<\/p>\n

The SAF had abandoned their base and, despite severe bombings, it was not able to regain the lost territory.<\/p>\n

Previous reports by Radio Dabanga counted tens of soldiers being killed in the battlefield. The victims belonged to both the SAF and to the SRF.<\/p>\n

The Sudan Armed Forces declined to make any comments. <\/p>\n
