The commissioner of Kabkabiya, Ahmed Adam, announced reaching a peaceful coexistence agreement between the tribes in Numu village on Sunday, 30 December. The commissioner told Radio Dabanga that the local authorities in Kabkabiya committed to providing security and protection of civilians in the village of Numu during a meeting held on Sunday in the village itself, west of Kabkabiya.<\/p>\n

He added to Radio Dabanga that the disputing parties around the village committed to a peaceful coexistence agreement and to respect each other\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n

For his part, community head of Dar Tia, Altayeb Abdukora, told Radio Dabanga from Kabkabiya on Sunday that the Arab tribes committed to respect the rights of the citizens of Numu village in Kakbabiya locality. At the same time, the local authorities committed to providing safety and security to the area\u2019s residents and protect them from attacks.<\/p>\n

He asserted to Radio Dabanga that the residents refused to return to the village until the government authorities are able to protect them and their properties.<\/p>\n
