A pro-government militia group has entirely looted a Central Darfur village and vehicles belonging to a Chinese company in two separate attacks that took place on the same day, sources say.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, 10 January, the militiamen \u201centirely looted\u201d the village of Naga Doli in Zalingei locality, a source told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n
The attack led to the displacement of the local residents to different areas, namely Apta, Trumo (located east of Naga Doli) and to the Hamidiya camp in Zalingei, according to testimonies.<\/p>\n
A Zalingei camps coordinator confirmed the arrival of 15 families, who were riding camels, from Naga Doli to the Hamidiya camp on Thursday afternoon when speaking to Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n
The coordinator described their situation as \u201ccritical\u201d. He appealed to international organizations and to UNAMID to visit the looted village and carry out a fact-finding mission in the area in addition to providing aid to the displaced.<\/p>\n
Company\u2019s vehicle <\/strong><\/p>\n Also on Thursday, the same militiamen seized two Land Cruisers belonging to a Chinese company that is building roads and bridges between Zalingei and El-Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, the coordinator reported.<\/p>\n According to witnesses, the gunmen were driving three Land Cruisers and stole the vehicles in Jebel Margabg, west of Zalingei.<\/p>\n The Zalingei camps coordinator said Darfur is becoming a \u201clawless region\u201d and called on UNAMID to patrol camps 24 hours per day.<\/p>\n Radio Dabanga file photo<\/em><\/p>\n
