Four female herders have reportedly beaten a displaced woman unconscious after she refused to walk with them to fetch water by a well on Wednesday, near Ronga Tas camp, Central Darfur.<\/p>\n

As a result of the assault, the displaced Bussayna Adam Omar currently sustains critical head injuries and was admitted at a Zalingei hospital on Thursday, her relative told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

Omar\u2019s family member said the victim was on her way back to the camp after fetching water from a nearby well when she was approached by the female herders.<\/p>\n

The herders asked the displaced to return to the spring with them to get more water. However, the victim declined and offered the alleged perpetrators to drink from her own water instead, according to the relative.<\/p>\n

As it appears, the offenders rejected Omar\u2019s water claiming it was not \u201cclean enough\u201d and began beating her on the head with sticks \u201cuntil she completely lost consciousness\u201d.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s relative said he pressed charges at the police station and stressed the alleged perpetrators have been arrested. <\/p>\n
