The rebel group Sudan Liberation Movement-Abdel Wahid (SLM-AW) is claiming that government forces fired six missiles on the city of Golo, Central Darfur, killing one girl and injuring two others. They also reported seeing an Antonov airplane flying over the area on Monday.<\/p>\n

On the same day, eyewitnesses confirmed seeing an Antonov airplane and affirmed hearing \u201cloud gunfire noises\u201d and seeing thick clouds of smoke rising from the areas of Golo and Jildu garrison in West Jebel Marra.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Tambour, SLM-AW spokesman, told Radio Dabanga government forces fired \u201csix long-range missiles\u201d on Golo at 8:00am.<\/p>\n

One of the missiles hit a girls\u2019 secondary school, killing the student Arafa Mohamed Adam Abdallah and injuring Amina Ibrahim Abdulrasool and Kaltuom Omar Tor.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, government forces and militias moved towards the town, which the rebels claim to still control.<\/p>\n

Tambour asserted that an Antonov airplane was flying over Golo from early morning until about 3:30pm on Monday.  <\/p>\n

Witnesses <\/strong><\/p>\n

According to eyewitnesses who fled Golo\u2019s and Jildu\u2019s neighboring villages, an Antonov airplane flew over the area from 10:00am until the afternoon on Monday.<\/p>\n

A man escaping the conflict told Radio Dabanga local residents have been seeing \u201cheavily armed\u201d government convoys moving on the road from Nertiti and Gurny in the direction of Golo.<\/p>\n

The majority of the displaced are currently stationed in the nearby Sronq village, he said.<\/p>\n
