Schools, health centers and water stations at Zam Zam camp near El-Fasher, North Darfur, are closed for three days since members of the Central Reserve Forces launched attacks on the area.<\/p>\n

Witnesses speaking to Radio Dabanga said the assaults took place between Tuesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n

They added the \u201cAbu Tira\u201d, as the Central Reserve Forces as known, looted and destroyed eight shops and fired random shots in the air in and outside the camp \u201cterrorizing the displaced\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sources are claiming the attacks are in retaliation of the murder of two Abu Tira forces by \u201cunknown gunmen\u201d by a water station last Tuesday. The perpetrators also stole a Land Cruiser belonging to the Abu Tira and fled to an unknown area.<\/p>\n

Displaced are saying the security situation at the camp is \u201calarmingly deteriorating\u201d making them unable to leave their homes.<\/p>\n

They claim there is almost \u201cno life\u201d at the camp at moment and all institutions have temporarily ceased their functions.<\/p>\n

Zam Zam\u2019s residents are urging international organizations to protect them from attacks by Abu Tira, who are \u201cterrorizing and intimidating\u201d everyone. <\/p>\n
