The Touloum refugee camp in eastern Chad has received 128 people fleeing the clashes between Abbala and Beni Hussein tribesmen in North Darfur that began over one month ago.<\/p>\n

Haider Suleiman Gardia, head of the camp, told Radio Dabanga that 27 families amounting to 128 people arrived in Touloum on Monday night in \u201cpoor health conditions\u201d.<\/p>\n

The newly-arrived refugees comprise 46 children, 12 men and the others are women. They come mostly from Al-Sref Beni Hussein, Saraf Omra and Birka Saira, he said.<\/p>\n

Gardia pointed out that some humanitarian agencies visited the camp on Tuesday and guaranteed to provide its residents the \u201cnecessary assistance\u201d.<\/p>\n

On 15 January Radio Dabanga reported that 40 families who were also fleeing the tribal clashes in North Darfur had arrived at the Touloum camp.<\/p>\n

The UN estimates that about 100.000 fled their homes since hostilities between the Abbala and Beni Hussein erupted in the beginning of January.<\/p>\n
