Residents of Nyala, South Darfur, are \u201cangry\u201d because the city is witnessing frequent power shortages for the last three days amid insufficient quantities of fuel available to run the power station.   <\/p>\n

Shortage in electricity is also affecting the city\u2019s water supply, residents told Radio Dabanga on Thursday. They explained the electric pumps cannot be used at the moment and that a barrel of water now costs 10 Sudanese pounds.<\/p>\n

Nyala\u2019s craftsmen and \u201cthe whole social and economic dynamics\u201d of the town are facing difficulties due to the power cuts, sources pointed out. <\/p>\n

Citizens are criticizing the central and state\u2019s government for their indifference and for not providing an adequate fuel reserve for Nyala\u2019s power station.<\/p>\n

According to them, government authorities had not reached the town until Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

Nyala is often facing power shortages, as reported by Radio Dabanga. The last occurrence took place in January, in which residents affirmed it also affected other economic sectors.  <\/p>\n
