Abbala insurgents abducted a displaced woman on Monday in North Darfur and \u201crepeatedly\u201d raped during the three consecutive days she was held captive, according to a relative. The victim is currently under treatment at a hospital in Saraf Omra.<\/p>\n
Two militants on camels and one riding a horse, kidnapped the displaced at gunpoint when she was collecting wood to build homes near the Jebel El Jedid camp.<\/p>\n
The site was established after the eruption of tribal clashes between Abbala and Beni Hussein over control of the Jebel \u2018Amer gold mine in North Darfur last January.<\/p>\n
The victim, 35, was taken to Wadi Bagang in the Birket Seira area, located nine kilometers northeast of Saraf Omra. She was \u201craped day and night\u201d by the Abbala, who only left her side when they needed to eat, her relative disclosed.<\/p>\n
Although the displaced remained blindfolded throughout her captivity, she claimed to have been abused by more than the three men who kidnapped her in first place.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, the perpetrators put the victim on the back of a camel and \u201cdropped her on the ground near the camp\u201d, the source said.<\/p>\n
The police and UNAMID have been reportedly notified about the incident.<\/p>\n
