The leader of a Central Darfur camp declared that medical care has become one of the major problems for the displaced. Treatment is only available for holders of health insurance cards, which he says, are \u201cnot accessible\u201d. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Nertiti\u2019s displaced are complaining about the \u201cspread of health problems\u201d in the camp, such as diarrhea, flu and severe headaches among children.<\/p>\n

The camp is also experiencing a \u201cdrinking water crisis\u201d caused by problems with water pumps and taps, the leader said.<\/p>\n

Residents of Nertiti are demanding the concerned authorities to help them resolve their problems. <\/p>\n

Nertiti is home to more than 42.000 displaced according to the UN OCHA. It has recently received an extra 25.000 families who fled the battles between rebels and government troops in the West Jebel Marra area of Central Darfur, reports suggested.<\/p>\n

In another development, the camp\u2019s leader told Radio Dabanga that about 100 families of Nertiti have \u201cfailed to catch up with the cards\u2019 registration\u201d to receive food rations.<\/p>\n

He appealed to the World Food Programme (WFP) to find a solution to this \u201curgent\u201d problem.<\/p>\n

The WFP resumed the cards registration process in February at Nertiti camps after a suspension of over one year.<\/p>\n

Displaced had initially feared the process was a scam of the government to acquire their information and dismantle the camps and refused to give up their names.<\/p>\n
