A displaced man, Yahiya Wad Sayed was killed and two others were wounded in what seem like random shootings by pro-government militias. The incidents occurred in Naseem, Dankoj and Jebel camps, near the city of Saraf Omra, North Darfur.<\/p>\n

The leader of one of the camps told Radio Dabanga that the security situation in the area is deteriorating due to random militia attacks, especially at night.<\/p>\n

In Friday\u2019s incident, the displaced Hassan Mohamed Hassan was injured as a result of indiscriminate firing. The displaced Idris Mohammed was also robbed and injured. Yahiya Wad Sayed was killed in a separate but similar incident on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese incidents occur mostly at night, and are inciting a state of fear and panic in the hearts of the displaced. This also impacts on public life at the Saraf Omra camps,\u201d the leader said.<\/p>\n

He drew the attention of Radio Dabanga to the health crisis and severe shortage of food at all three Saraf Omra camps. There is a delay in the distribution of food rations, especially for the newly displaced who have arrived at the camps from Al Sareif Beni Hussein, where tribal clashes erupted over the Jebel \u2018Amer gold mine in January, and many died following a collapse at the end of April. \u201cThese people received aid only once since they arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source said that the displaced are suffering. \u201cThey have difficulties obtaining treatment as the three camps only have one health centre.\u201d He explained that instead, \u201cthe displaced patients go to Saraf Omra and Zalingei for treatment and to buy medicines, but this ordeal increases their suffering\u201d.<\/p>\n

The leader has asked for international pressure on the government to allow the return of humanitarian organisations to the area so that they can provide services to the displaced.<\/p>\n
