The commander of the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) for the southwest area, Muhammad Bashir Yusuf has rejected a call by the head of the movement for implementing voluntary security arrangements.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Radio Dabanga, Yusuf criticised the head of the movement, Dr Tijani Sese, \u201cfor his lack of interest in the military aspects and only focusing on the material aspects\u201d.<\/p>\n

Yusuf: \u201cThe field leadership reject Sese\u2019s call for implementing voluntarily security arrangements. We, the field commanders, joined the movement in accordance with the international (Doha) agreement after defecting from other movements with great leadership. I didn\u2019t meet Sese in a disco lounge but in the field.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yusuf said that the commanders have written to the guarantors of the agreement, including the AU, the Chadian government, the UN, the Joint Mediation and the State of Qatar: \u201cWe reject the provision of security arrangements in the way Sese calls for.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stressed that the field leadership did not reject the item outright, but are demanding that it be implemented according to the agreement and \u201cin accordance with what pleases the field leaders, not as Dr Sese imagines\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not go into the implementation of the item of security arrangements unless we receive dues for the past eight years,\u201d Yusuf concluded.<\/p>\n
