The deputy president of the Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) and the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement SLM, Minni Arko Minawi, has described a speech by presidential aide Nafie Ali Nafie on Thursday as \u201cthe words of a frustrated person who cannot resist the SRF\u201d.<\/p>\n

Minawi was speaking to Radio Dabanga in reaction to an address by Nafie to the Legislative Council of Khartoum State.<\/p>\n

Nafie, who is a leading advisor to Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir, outlined the Sudanese government\u2019s stance on \u201cPlan B\u201d for the SRF advance on Khartoum, as well as the government\u2019s beliefs with regard to the rebels\u2019 strength and position.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe forces of the SRF are active in the whole of Sudan,\u201d Minawi said. \u201cEverybody knows that very well, but Nafie speaks with a kind of frustration, implying that his forces have no ability to defend the cities targeted by SRF forces.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minawi is defiant: \u201cIt is not Nafie who will determine where we will be. He certainly knows that our forces are present in Darfur, because it is common knowledge that they clashed with the so-called Sudan Armed Forces near Nyala a week ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
