The government of Central Darfur state has announced postponement of the opening of the academic year for secondary schools, which was scheduled to start this month until 1 July.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Education for Central Darfur state, Azhari Haj Adam, explained to Radio Dabanga that the reasons for postponing the opening of secondary schools in the state were \u201cattributed to the completion of certain arrangements for the secondary schoolboys\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese include the opening of two new schools for the first time in Touro and Abata,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe procedure for appointing a number of teachers still needs to be completed. In addition, we have to wait for the seating for the new schools as well as other schools to reach our state. The materials have been sent by train from Khartoum, however the train has been delayed between Babanusa (South Kordofan) and Ed Daein (East Darfur),\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n
