The displaced residents of Bundisi camp in Central Darfur state have denounced efforts by Bindisi locality to dismantle and close the site.<\/p>\n
A spokesman for the displaced of the camp explained to Radio Dabanga that the locality\u2019s government has already transferred the hospital from inside the camp. This is causing residents to suffer, and has made it difficult for them to access medical treatment for the last two years.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are also efforts by the locality\u2019s government to relocate the grain silos and other elements from the camp to an unknown destination without consulting the displaced,\u201d he said. \u201cThe policy that is designed to shut-down the camp has increased insecurity for residents. They love in a constant state of terror,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
The spokesman demanded via Radio Dabanga that the state and locality governments, as well as relief organisations, act to stop the violation of their rights.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey need to curtail the deterioration of security, protect the displaced, improve educational facilities, and address the problems with the water stations. They need to reverse the actions aimed at shutting-down the camp,\u201d the spokesman concluded.<\/p>\n
