The Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) claims to have destroyed two separate Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) patrols in the Nuba Mountains area of South Kordofan, killing 26 government troops, for the loss of \u201cone dead and three slightly wounded\u201d.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the official spokesman for the SPLA-N, Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, has said that \u201cheavy casualties were inflicted and military equipment was captured\u201d in two separate encounters.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, an SAF patrol heading for Abu Zabed was reportedly ambushed between Al Dabker and Injemaina villages in the Al Sonot area.<\/p>\n
\u201cFour government troops were killed and the SPLA-N captured a Land Cruiser pickup in good condition,\u201d Lodi said. \u201cOne SPLA-N member was killed.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Monday, a patrol heading to Farshai was reportedly ambushed and destroyed between Dilling city and Sunjukai. Lodi says that the bodies of 22 SAF troops were \u201cleft on the ground\u201d after the rebels \u201cidentified some of them via their military ID\u201d.<\/p>\n
Lodi says that in this encounter, three SPLA-N cadres were \u201cslightly wounded\u201d, while \u201cone Korean-made jeep and a 12.7mm machine gun were captured in good condition.\u201d<\/p>\n
Radio Dabanga was unable to independently verify these reports.<\/p>\n
