A man and his wife were reportedly killed on Sunday morning after gunmen invaded their home in a village in the Kodo area, seven kilometres from Mukjar in Central Darfur.<\/p>\n
Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that Al Doum Daoud Ahmed died immediately, while his wife Kaltouma Issa Ahmed succumbed to her injuries later that morning.<\/p>\n
The couple were buried on Monday after relatives filed a complaint with the police. According to villagers, the police \u201cdid not immediately respond to apprehend the perpetrators\u201d.<\/p>\n
In separate incidents, farmers working in the Tendy area 10 kilometres north-east of Mukjar, were allegedly robbed of two donkeys by \u201cpro-government militiamen\u201d.<\/p>\n
Farmers of Targo village, south of Garsila claim that on Sunday morning, \u201cpro-government militiamen riding horses and camels\u201d beat them with whips and rifle butts, kicked them, and stole their donkeys, horses and farming implements.<\/p>\n
Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the sheikh of the village, Arbab Idris and his brother were severely beaten by the militiamen, reporting that \u201cmost of the men of the village fled to Garsila camps on Monday, while others travelled to Siega village.”<\/p>\n
