The Deputy President of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF), Minni Minawi, has described the outcome of a meeting he attended in Geneva on Wednesday with some factions of the National Consensus Forces (NCF), as \u201cfruitful and successful\u201d.<\/p>\n

He confirmed that the meeting, held under the auspices of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, \u201creflected the unity and seriousness of the opposition which wants regime change in word and deed\u201d.<\/p>\n

Minawi said that the meeting also \u201creflected to the international community the seriousness and commitment of the participants to the unity of the homeland soil and the willingness of the opposition to engage in dialogue with any party whatsoever\u201d.<\/p>\n

The SRF Deputy President stressed adherence to peaceful solutions, but not on the terms of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP), which he believes, \u201dalways presents partial solutions\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Khartoum regime only listens to the voice of a gun when it sees the flames of fire,\u201d he said, emphasising that \u201cthere will be international pressure on Khartoum to allow access to relief by those affected and displaced in the states of South Kordofan, the Blue Nile, and the Darfur region, as well as treatment of war hostages and the wounded in accordance with international norms and conventions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Minawi announced that in addition to the SRF, the signatories to the Geneva Declaration were, Ali Al Haj representing the Popular Congress, Dr Yousef Al Koda representing the Moderation Party, Professor Mohamed Zein El Abidine representing the Democratic Unionist Party, and Muawiya Mohamedein Ahmed representing the Sudanese Alliance led by Abdul Aziz Khalid.<\/p>\n
