This damaged houses, shops and properties of citizens, in addition to government facilities in the state capital El Fasher. \u201cThis requires urgent action to bring relief to North Darfur,\u201d Kibir said.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of Nyala and surrounding camps for displaced in South Darfur have also suffered significant losses as a result of the rains.<\/p>\n<p>Hussein Abu Sharati, spokesman for the Association of Displaced persons and Refugees of Darfur, told Radio Dabanga that 13 elderly died due to heavy storms that fell on Wednesday and Thursday on the area. Four hundred homes were also destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeven of the victims died on Thursday and another six on Friday due to complications caused by the rain. Besides, new arrivals are lacking tarpaulins and tents. They are now living out in the open,\u201d Abu Sharati said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman is asking aid organisations to \u201cmove and develop a plan to cover the pits, ponds and pools of water\u201d formed at the camps by the rains.
