A father and his two sons were hit by lightning as they were were caught in a thunderstorm while collecting hay in North Darfur. The father died on the spot and the two sons are at the hospital in coma.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the family’s relative said the father Mohamed  Abdulkarim Ahmed, 35, and the children were on a valley in the vicinity of Kabkabiya when the accident happened.<\/p>\n

Also in North Darfur, a child was killed, 80 houses collapsed, and more than 100 died due to heavy rainfall and flood.<\/p>\n

A source from the area of Baashin in Kutum locality said that Tuesday’s rain flooded the nearby wadi leading to the destruction.<\/p>\n

According to UN OCHA, this year’s rain victims have amounted so far to about 150,000 across the whole country. <\/span>Government sources <\/span>say that 23,000 families have been affected by rain in the whole country.<\/span><\/p>\n
