A 13-year-old displaced girl is alleged to have been repeatedly raped over a period of 10 hours in Krekir, west of Kabkabiya in North Darfur on Saturday, while her 17-year-old brother was bound to a tree.<\/p>\n

A relative of the girl told Radio Dabanga that she and her brother were accosted \u201cby three border guards, one of them a Captain\u201d.<\/p>\n

The relative alleged that when the girl\u2019s brother attempted to rescue her, he was taken and bound to a tree. \u201cThe men then took turns raping her over a period of more than 10 hours,\u201d the relative said.<\/p>\n

The source reported that once the crime was reported, a group of local residents helped to track the alleged rapists to Garrah Za and Azawia, further to the west, and were able to detain them.<\/p>\n

A witness said that the men were forced to pay compensation of SDG23,000 ($5,235), adding that both the girl and her brother have been transferred to hospital in Kabkabiya for treatment.<\/p>\n
