Two people were injured, including a member of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), when militiamen clashed with members of the army in the market of Thur in Nierteti locality, Central Darfur on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that an SAF soldier was repeatedly stabbed and seriously injured, a civilian injured and four women miscarried. The clash was reportedly triggered when militiamen looted four shops in the market and torched four motorcycles.<\/p>\n

The source revealed that the government troops fired into the air to disperse the militiamen. An army Lance Corporal named Ishaq was stabbed five times by militiamen. \u201cNasreddin Yahiya was injured in the crossfire, while the fear and panic cause the four pregnant women to miscarry,\u201d the witness concluded.<\/p>\n

In a separate incident in Nierteti on Thursday, traders Nazhan Abdulrahman Hussein (35) and Musa Sadik Mohamed (28) were wounded when a militiaman allegedly opened fire on them.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the militiaman went to Hussein\u2019s mobile phone shop to have his phone charged. \u201cWhen Hussein asked him to pay, he refused. When Hussein insisted, the militiaman shot him in the head. The same bullet hit and wounded Mohamed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wounded have been transferred to Nierteti hospital for treatment. The police have reportedly apprehended the suspect who is now being held in Nierteti prison.<\/p>\n

Also on Thursday, in Mukjar locality in Central Darfur, militiamen allegedly attacked and robbed seven women.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the attack, in the Goz area to the west of an Unamid base. The militiamen allegedly robbed them of all their belongings.<\/p>\n
