Militiamen allegedly attacked a number of displaced farmers, looted their properties, and raped two women among them in Wadi Kidim, north of Bindisi in Central Darfur on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

An eyewitness told Radio Dabanga that about ten militiamen on camels and horses, dressed in military uniforms, attacked a number of displaced farmers who were tending their farms in the area of Kijir and Wadi Kidim.<\/p>\n

The militias fired many shots into the air before they captured the displaced and raped two women alternately. The farmers were only released on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to the witness, the insurgents beat and whipped the displaced and took their money, mobile phones, luggage, food, even their farming tools. The witness confirmed that they filed a complaint with the police of Bindisi, who did not move to prosecute the offenders.<\/p>\n

The same witness told Radio Dabanga that on Thursday a group of midwives who were on their way from Bindisi to Zalingei for a training course, escaped a certain death, when militias opened a barrage of fire on their vehicle nearby Garsila town.<\/p>\n
