Dozens were killed and injured on Wednesday morning during renewed clashes between Rizeigat and Ma\u2019alia tribes in the area of Bakhit in Abu Karinka locality, East Darfur.<\/p>\n

Less than a month after the signing of a ceasefire agreement in El Taweisha, North Darfur, 12 bodies and 21 wounded have been transferred to the Ed Daein hospital. Another nine wounded were transported to the El Guran hospital and 30 to the Abu Karinka hospital.<\/p>\n

The Chief of the Ma\u2019alia, Mohamed Ahmed El Safi, reported from the city of Adila about the killing of ten and the injury of 30 of his tribesmen during the clashes with the Rizeigat on Wednesday, accusing the Rizeigat of attacking the Ma\u2019alia in the Bakhit area, Abu Karinka locality, with heavy weapons.<\/p>\n

El Safi explained that the wounded were offered first aid at the Abu Karinka hospital, in preparation for the transfer of the seriously injured to hospitals outside East Darfur. The Chief has appealed to the two warring parties to end the clashes and resort to dialogue, telling them that that in war there are no winner, only losers.<\/p>\n

The Chief renewed his appeal, via Radio Dabanga, to the two parties to \u201clisten to the voice of reason, and make an end to the fighting, because in the end both tribes, who are in fact related, will be the loser.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor of East Darfur, Abdel Hamid Musa Kasha warned that the clashes may lead to a breach of the ceasefire agreement, signed between the two parties in El Taweisha. He demands, through Radio Dabanga, from the warring parties to assist the government by refraining from the use of violence, in order to avoid an outbreak of new clashes.<\/p>\n
