At least three people have been killed and three others of the Misseriya tribe injured in the area of Balbasu, 7km east of Mukjar town, Central Darfur, on Friday, during a clash between two heavily armed groups.<\/p>\n
An eyewitness told Radio Dabanga that an armed group had earlier stolen about 22 cows in Fado, south of Mukjar. Later they were seen with the cattle in the area of Balbasu. Witnesses said that a group of citizens followed them and clashed with them in the area. In return they took 260 cows and 90 sheep. They also killed Hasiba Wad Abuk, his son Mohamed Hasiba Wad Abuk, and Mohamed Ali.<\/p>\n
The witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the clash resulted in the injury of Mukhtar El Haj Abdallah, Fadil Ali Mohamed and another person. All are receiving treatment at the hospital of Mukjar.<\/p>\n
The battle, in which heavy weapons were used, lasted for about an hour and a half. All farmers in the neighbourhood fled to their homes.<\/p>\n
Umm Dukhun<\/strong><\/p>\n In Umm Dukhun town, Central Darfur, Ishaq Teksas, an electrician, was killed inside his house with machetes. A witness told Radio Dabanga that an unknown group attacked Teksas at about 2am on Friday morning inside his house and beat him to death.<\/p>\n Bindisi<\/strong><\/p>\n A clash between citizens and militiamen on Thursday in the area of Ra\u2019s Al Fil, Bindisi locality, Central Darfur, has led to the death and injury of a number of people.<\/p>\n A witness told Radio Dabanga that a group of unknown gunmen seized 150 head of cattle on Wednesday evening in the area of Kalam Basinan, 2 km west of Bindisi. A \u2018rescue team\u2019 of residents in the area tracked down the gunmen in the neighbourhood of Ra\u2019s Al Fil, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries among the two parties. Another rescue team consisting of 30 motorcyclists on Thursday morning went to back up the first team. However, they were ambushed and a number of them were killed. The clashes continued until Thursday evening.<\/p>\n A convoy of nine trucks with paramilitary troops of the Central Reserve Forces (also known as Abu Tira) arrived in Bindisi town from Zalingei on Thursday, to protect the market and government institutions from any possible attacks by militiamen.<\/p>\n The troops were deployed at the market, the headquarters of the locality, and the entry roads of the city.
