Two men were reportedly killed and three injured in Gereida locality, South Darfur, in an attack by alleged pro-government militias on a commercial vehicle.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga an eyewitness reported that \u201cgovernment-backed militiamen in military uniforms, riding on camels and horses\u201d, opened fire on a commercial vehicle en route from Um el Kheiraat to Gereida, on the second day of the Eid el Adha.<\/p>\n

The owner of the vehicle, Bahreldin Idris, and Omar Abakar, also known as Um Dikheiraat, were shot dead and three others injured. The passengers were robbed of all their luggage, money, and mobile phones.<\/p>\n

The residents of Gereida locality renewed their complaints about the deteriorating security situation. They demanded from the authorities to put an end to the abuses by \u201cgovernment-backed militias.\u201d<\/p>\n
