Three farmers from the Ma\u2019alia tribe were reportedly shot dead by members of the Rizeigat tribe in Bakhit, Abu Karinka locality, in East Darfur on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Member of the Legislative Council of East Darfur state, Omar Musa Omar Bashir reported to Radio Dabanga that large group of Rizeigat tribesmen attacked the farm of Dafa\u2019elsayyid Musa Hamad at Bakhit station, about 7km south of Um Rakubain the evening.<\/p>\n

During the attack, Ma\u2019alia farmers Ahmed Abakar Abdelkarim (27), Amir Haroun (30), and Elghali Ibrahim Abdallah (35) were killed.<\/p>\n

Bashir described the attack as a violation of the truce signed in August by between the two tribes. He affirmed that the Ma\u2019alia tribe has kept 100 per cent to the agreement.<\/p>\n

He explained that the main reason behind the attack is the absence of security forces in the areas of the Ma\u2019alia and Rizeigat tribes, instead of being stationed in Ed Daein, the capital of East Darfur.<\/p>\n

These security forces should be stationed in Ma\u2019alia areas to monitor the movements of \u201ccriminal elements\u201d of the Rizeigat tribe, who \u201care now terrorising the farmers\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Council member appealed to the authorities of Abu Karinka locality to move the security forces consisting of Sudanese Armed Forces, the Central Reserve Forces (Abu Tira) and security troops to the areas of conflicts as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The Secretary General of the government of East Darfur state, Ahmed Mohamed Eldud, acknowledged the incident in an interview with Radio Dabanga. He reported that forces consisting of the army, security forces, and Central Reserve Forces in 15 vehicles arrived at Bakhit station on Thursday, noting that not all security forces are concentrated in Ed Daein.<\/p>\n

Eldud also reported that East Darfur state on Thursday launched \u201can extensive combing campaign, in order to eliminate these thugs and expand the circle of safety step by step to reach all of East Darfur state\u201d. He added that on Thursday the regions of Elsabi, Elday, Elfadul and Muglad were inspected.<\/p>\n
