Militiamen have attacked and killed group of six people in the area of Wadi Bari, west of Kabkabiya in North Darfur on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

The group was on its way from the Hai El Mawashi camp for the displaced to Tabarna to fetch the bodies of Habib Abdallah Ismail, Sheikh of the camp and Ali Haroun, who were killed by militiamen on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga a sheikh of the camp reported that when the funeral group reached Wadi Bari, \u201cgovernment-backed militias on camels and horses and in three Land Cruisers mounted with machine guns\u201d, opened fire, killing Abdallah Adam Ibrahim, Mohamed Abdallah Salaheldin and Adam Adam, and injuring Nureldin Ali Ahmed Jada, Adam Abakar Ahmed Teirab and Abdallah Yahya Ismail. The gunmen robbed them of six motor cycles.<\/p>\n

The sheikh added that the funeral group had requested the commander of the Unamid team site in Kabkabiya locality to accompany them and help them transfer the two bodies. The Unamid commander, however, told them that he would need the approval of the Sudanese police to do this.<\/p>\n
