The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) delegation currently touring Europe, today concluded its visit to Finland. The delegation, consisting of SRF President Malik Agar, five Vice Presidents and the External Affairs Secretary, in Helsinki has talked to the Prime Minister, parliamentarians as well as representatives of Finnish civil society organisations. The meetings concentrated on a comprehensive resolution for the armed conflicts in Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile.<\/p>\n

Abdelwahid Mohamed El Nur, leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement-AW and SRF Co-Vice President described to Radio Dabanga the talks in Helsinki as \u201cvery successful\u201d.  He said that the delegation will travel today to the European Parliament in Strasbourg and from there to the EU headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday. The following day, 21 November, they visit the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

El Nur reported that he proposed an international conference on security and humanitarian issues in the war-torn regions of Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile. The idea was received positively by the SRF delegation as well as by the countries already visited, France, Germany, Italy and Finland. \u201cOur friends in the European Union and we are moving in the right direction on the idea of an international conference addressing the ongoing genocide in Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, the Blue Nile and other regions in Sudan, as well as the recent killings of peaceful demonstrators in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
