The authorities are recruiting and training young men in Darfur, allegedly to support the Sudan Armed Forces in their battle against rebel groups in Darfur and South Kordofan.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Adam Abdelrahman El Faki from Wadi Salih in Central Darfur, reported that he and other young men from various regions were recruited by the Sudanese Border Guards, led by Commander Mohamed Hamdan, better known as Hemeti.<\/p>\n

The recruits had to wait in Nyala until their number reached about 500. They were transported for military training in one of the five training camps in Khartoum (including the camps of El Jireif, Jeily, and El Maagil).<\/p>\n

El Faki said that after completion of the training, Hemeti told them they would be sent to Darfur. Later they discovered that they were transported to war zones in South Kordofan to fight the Sudan Revolutionary Front rebel troops.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn South Kordofan, we faced our brothers, cousins \u200b\u200band colleagues, having to fight against them without a reason. Many got killed in the battles there, others fled and are now roaming around, trying to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n

El Faki pointed out that he went to the area of Heglig. He appealed to his \u201cfriends and colleagues who are in the field\u201d to stop the fighting and return to their homes. He also called on \u201cthe people of Darfur and those whose sons left them to be trained by Hemeti to immediately act and make them return\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose of the Revolutionary Front, against whom they are fighting, have legitimate grievances, demands and issues.\u201d<\/p>\n
