The Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) has accused the government of Sudan of pursuing a scorched earth policy and genocide against the Nuba in South Kordofan. Dozens of people were killed, more than 91 were abducted, and at least 2,000 were displaced during the last week, according to the SPLM-N spokesperson.<\/p>\n
Arno Nugutulo Lodi reported to Radio Dabanga that the Sudanese Air Force continues to attack the citizens of South Kordofan. \u201cAerial bombardments targeting civilians have expanded significantly over the last few years and now include most parts of South Kordofan state. Apart from the bombing, citizens also suffer from intensified attacks by government militias. It seems that the Khartoum regime wants to eliminate the Nuba too,\u201d Lodi said.<\/p>\n
During the past week, 2,000 people in Kega El Kheil fled from the air raids. The villages of Gogheiba, Torleit, and Koldang were entirely burned in the bombardments. Six bombs dropped on the villages of Lima and Kanga, west of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, killed Gismallah Musa Bako and Allahjabu Adam Radwan and wounded eight others. Air raids on Korongo caused 287 families to flee their burning houses.<\/p>\n
In Heiban locality, the spokesperson continued, an Antonov and a Sukhoi jet fighter targeted the market of Tanasa. An Antonov bombed the village of Mandi. The air force also targeted Kumo village and Kauda town which led to the burning of a house near the Kauda mosque.<\/p>\n
