In North Darfur, militiamen murdered a seven-year-old boy in the market district of Kabkabiya, on Saturday. On the same day, lorry passengers were robbed in Saraf Omra.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Radio Dabanga an eyewitness reported that two government-backed militiamen obtained a number of goods from Nasreldin Sadig Masoud at the shop of his father, who was at home at the time. When the boy insisted that the men should pay for their purchases, they refused and shot him, killing him on the spot.<\/p>\n
The witness said that the perpetrators fled across the market, while the security forces and the police at the market did not move to detain them.<\/p>\n
A listener from Birkat Seira, Saraf Omra locality in North Darfur, told Radio Dabanga that government-backed militiamen on camels and in two Land Cruisers mounted with machine guns ambushed a lorry returning from the Saraf Omra town market to Birkat Seira.<\/p>\n
The militiamen beat and robbed passengers Sheikh Duda Adam, a basic school teacher, of SDG600 ($105), Hassan Abdallah of SDG100 ($17.50), Souad Ibrahim Ahmed of SDG60 ($10.50) and lorry driver Sadeg Yahya of SDG250 ($44).<\/p>\n
