Some 42 families in Kalma camp for the displaced in South Darfur are living in very difficult humanitarian conditions after they lost their shelters in the fire that broke out on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The families (132 people) affected are still living in the open, without food, cover or shelter.<\/p>\n

Hussein Abu Sharati, spokesperson for the Association of Displaced People and Refugees of Darfur, told Radio Dabanga that on Monday four humanitarian organisations working in the camp conducted a field visit to the scene of the fire. The Kalma camp administration handed to the organisations details about the number of people affected by the fire, the loss of their property and their immediate needs.<\/p>\n

The organisations, Abu Sharati said, promised to provide aid to them.<\/p>\n
