Staff members of the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) have formed a committee to handle their complaints about the non-payment of their salaries for two consecutive months.<\/p>\n

DRA staff members told Radio Dabanga that the grade-9 staff members have not received their salaries for four months since the first of April this year when they were appointed. They have also submitted a memorandum about the issue to the Presidency and the Chairman of the DRA, Dr Tijani Sese.<\/p>\n

The newly formed committee met with all the DRA\u2019s concerned parties to address the weaknesses in the payments of the salaries and the classification system of the staff. The DRA employees are seconded from their original posts from but not classified according to the specialisation standards of the ministries.<\/p>\n

The grade-9 DRA staff members total 200, and include veterinarians, engineers, agriculturalists, administrative officers and computer technicians. There are 40 DRA posts in each of the five Darfur states.<\/p>\n
