The Habbaniya and Abbala tribes announced that they reached a peace agreement on Saturday in South Darfur.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, Habbaniya leader Hamid Ali Jabir Abu Gharra reported that the terms of the agreement, signed at Nathif in Buram locality, stipulate the commitment of all parties of the two tribes to stop their attacks, robberies, and assaulting of farmers, to refrain from harbouring thieves and outlaws, and to return stolen goods to their owners. In case the stolen goods cannot be returned, both tribes should donate enough money to be paid to the owners of the stolen goods.<\/p>\n

On 8 December clashes between the two tribes erupted, leading to the killing of ten people from both sides.<\/p>\n
