The rebel forces killed 23 army and militia troops, and seized three army vehicles loaded with a variety of arms, 19 Kalashnikov assault rifles, three machine guns, a 120 mortar and quantities of ammunition and food supplies. Tambur added that five army vehicles were destroyed during the battle that lasted one and a half hour. Three SLM troops were killed and two others wounded.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses fleeing the attack on the Disa military garrison told Radio Dabanga that they woke up on Sunday morning to the sounds of bullets and explosions. Many hid under their beds, others fled towards the valleys. The sources noted that there were no civilian casualties but they confirmed the burning of some houses due to the shelling, as well as a number of fatalities and casualties among the government forces.
